Cancellation Policy

Once an order has been made, this cannot be cancelled so please take care when making your selection.

Warranties and Guarantees

Little Yellow Bird is a New Zealand registered company. For your own peace of mind that means that you are covered under the New Zealand consumer law.

Consumer Guarantees Act 1993

The Consumer Guarantee Act sets out minimum standards for goods sold by us. In the event that goods sold are not of good quality or are faulty, the customer has the right to a repair, replacement or a refund.

Fair Trading Act 1986

The Fair Trading Act is designed to protect the customer from being misled, either intentionally or unintentionally. This applies to all aspects of the promotion and sale of goods and services including: pricing; where the product was made; where the product is from; the meeting of New Zealand safety standards; availability of products in store and the sales techniques used.

Sale Items

All sale items are final and we are unable to guarantee replacements or returns.

Privacy

Any information we receive from you is purely so we can efficiently deliver your goods, or to communicate information you choose to receive. We will absolutely not share your information with any other party under any circumstances. We securely store all customer information.

We firmly believe in protecting your privacy and the security of your personal information. We do not rent, sell or distribute our customer base or newsletter subscribers to anyone. We also do not store your credit card details on our server, all credit card purchases are processed through a Stripe secure payment gateway.

Who Controls Your Personal Data?

Little Yellow Bird Ltd is the controller of the personal data you submit and is responsible for your personal data under applicable data protection law.

Who Can Access Your Data?

We do not sell your data. Data that is forwarded to third parties we utilise, such as MailChimp, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Tumblr and Twitter is only used to provide you with our services.

What Are Your Rights?

You have the right to request information about the personal data we hold on you at any time. You can contactinfo@littleyellowbird.co.nz who will be able to provide you with your personal data via e-mail.

Whenever Little Yellow Bird Ltd processes your personal data, based on your consent or based on an agreement, you have the right to get a copy of your data transferred to you or to another party. This only includes the personal data you have submitted to us.

You have the right to request rectification of your personal data if it is incorrect, including the right to have incomplete personal data completed. If you have a Little Yellow Bird account you can emailinfo@littleyellowbird.co.nz to edit your personal data. If you are a newsletter subscriber, you can update your subscriber information through the link in the footer of our newsletters.

You have the right to erase any personal data processed by Little Yellow Bird Ltd at any time except for the following situations:

  • You have an ongoing matter with Customer Service.
  • You have an open order which has not yet been shipped.
  • You have an unsettled debt with Little Yellow Bird Ltd.
  • You are suspected or have misused our services within the last four years.
  • You have made a purchase, we will keep your personal data in connection to your transaction for bookkeeping purposes.

Erasure of any personal data withdraws the ability for Little Yellow Bird Ltd to trace previous proof of purchase and may prevent an opportunity to exchange or refund an item.

You have the right to object to processing of your personal data that is based on Little Yellow Bird Ltd legitimate interest. We will not continue to process the personal data unless we can demonstrate a legitimate ground for the process which overrides your interest and rights or due to legal claims.

You have the right to object to direct marketing. You can opt out from direct marketing by following the instructions in the footer of each newsletter.

How Can You Exercise Your Rights?

Personal Information We Collect

When you visit our website, we automatically collect certain information about your device, including information about your web browser, IP address, time zone, and some of the cookies that are installed on your device. Additionally, as you browse the site, we collect information about the individual web pages or products that you view, what websites or search terms referred you to the site, and information about how you interact with the site.
